Honolulu, Oahu Beaches including
beach description, and facilities
Waikiki has some of the best swimming and surfing beaches on Oahu, but there are other beautiful beaches to visit in the Honolulu area also. Honolulu area beaches are a great place to learn to surf as the waters tend to be calmer than the North Shore. Surf boards and body boards can be rented on the beach. Hotels, shops, restaurants, free concerts and other entertainment are always near by. Beware of stinging Box Jellyfish that swarm this area's waters between 7-11 days after a full moon. Many visitors ignore the jellyfish warning signs and suffer painful stings. At any beach in Hawaii, obey warning signs, ask lifeguards about ocean conditions, keep your eye on the surf, and if you have any doubt, stay out!

sharp coral and rocks near the reef area, strong
undercurrents and quick
tidal changes. NO SWIMMING in the boat channels on the sides of the

Narrow, steep beach, usually very small waves, great for novice
swimmers. The reef and seawalls
should be approached with caution as
they may be very sharp and dangerous. Best spot for
snorkeling is the
middle of the beach park, called Queen's Beach.
