North Shore Oahu Beaches including
beach description and facilities
Oahu's North Shore is known as the world's surfing capital. Its beaches are famous for their huge winter waves, averaging 25-30 feet, but capable of reaching 50 feet and inflicting serious injury and death upon humans. North Shore surf is not for casual surfers or swimmers. Summer months tend to be calmer for snorkeling and swimming. However, calm seas can be deceiving. You must be careful if you are going to enter the water here. Respect the ocean's power while in Hawaii! If you are not an expert swimmer, you may just want to enjoy watching the awesome surfing that takes place on the North Shore.
